Food

I believe in providing our bodies with food that will nourish and strengthen our bodies, minds and souls while enjoying the company that naturally surrounds food.

I want to open people’s eyes to not only the benefits of eating a balanced healthy diet but also the realization that eating healthy does not mean you have to eat gross nasty bird feed food.

My theory: If it doesn’t taste good why eat it? If I feel like crap after I eat, why eat it again? Food should be delicious AND nutritious. Why would I eat something that doesn’t satisfy me and why would I eat something that isn’t beneficial to me?

However, I know that everyone is different. Every body reacts to food differently. What may work for me, may not work for you. Taking time to listen to your body and understand how you feel when you eat certain food is important.

Over the years I have found the most beneficial way for me to eat, is a balanced array of vegetables, fruit and lean meats and desert of course. Both my husband and I have food allergies so we have to stay away from wheat, gluten, most dairy and refined sugar. My husband feels best when he adheres to the Specific Carbohydrate Diet, steering clear of wheat, most carbohydrates, most dairy, and sugar. For more information check out my Resources page.

I want to encourage you to try unfamiliar foods, explore news recipes and understand that food is meant to be enjoyed and eaten intentionally. Healthy does not mean nasty! There are so many great chefs and foodies out there that have re-invented recipes that are wonderfully delicious and nutritious.

I enjoy cooking and baking, but I also have a full time job, outside activities and obligations that I must meet, this means I don’t always have two hours to prepare meals and fix dinner. I am a busy woman! I want to share with you how to prepare healthy meals in less time so we have more time to actually enjoy eating it!

O Lord, we thank Thee for our daily bread. May it strengthen and refresh our bodies! And we pray Thee, nourish our souls with Thy heavenly grace, through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
