Less Time, More Muscle – Best Triceps Exercises

For most women, one of the least used (and toned) parts of our body is the back of our arms (aka triceps). Unfortunately when we don’t use a muscle it becomes soft and atrophied, this we do not want! I have had five students in the last week ask me how to tone this “chicken wig” as one woman put it.

With busy schedules and time restrictions it is important that we maximize our exercises and the time we take to exercise. According to research done at the UniversityofWisconsin/La Crosse Exerciseand Health Program, the most effective exercises for your triceps are triangle push-ups, dips, and triceps kickbacks.

I know you don’t have a lot of time, so I have put together a short, 15 minute exercise routine that you can fit into your current workout or do twice a week on its own, to help strengthen and tone those triceps muscles most effectively.

Do three sets of 10 reps of each of these exercises: starting with triangle push-ups, dips, and triceps kickbacks, resting 30 seconds between sets, then repeating 2 more times. Use a 5-10 lbs dumbbells for the triceps kickbacks.
